Altar Building Workshop: Create a Sacred Space in Your Home

An altar is more than a collection of pretty objects. It’s an energetic space where your intentions live, a small corner of your home that helps you reconnect with your soul, remember what you’re calling in or honoring, and harmonize with the cycles of life.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn about the practice of altar-making, the simple anatomy of an altar, and how to build one that feels intentional and transformative. We’ll begin with a short centering practice, take a light look at the history and traditions of altar-making, and explore different types of altars (daily practice, seasonal, ancestral, intention). We’ll also talk about where to place your altar in your home. Then we’ll explore the shop, where you’re welcome to choose the candles, incense, journals, and treasures that speak to you. You’ll leave with a good foundation for where and how to build your altar, a closing ritual to activate it, and an easy way to keep it alive at home.

No experience needed. Just bring curiosity, an intention, and one personal item that holds meaning for you, like a photo, a stone, or a piece of jewelry.

What’s included: guided practice, a step-by-step altar framework booklet to take home, time and space to build and experiment, and a closing ritual.

Bring: one meaningful personal item, a journal, something cozy to sit on (yoga mat and cushion),and a small budget for shop items, if you wish to shop (completely optional).
