Organizing Your Refrigerator + Freezer | The Best Of Series

We are moving into the kitchen portion of our Best Of series and we couldn’t be more excited, who doesn’t like an organized kitchen?! To kick off the kitchen organization essentials, we still start with probably the most used appliance… your fridge! You might be thinking, “what could I possibly do to make my fridge or freezer more organized other than moving the items around”, well my friend, there’s a ton! Today we are sharing our 7 most essential items.

Best Items for Organizing Your Refrigerator + Freezer

Divided Fridge Drawer

From the moment we saw these divided fridge drawers we fell in love. These could work for basically anything in your refrigerator. From meat to produce. We personally think they would be super helpful for those of you that go to the farmers market or buy a lot of veggies! Keep everything visible so nothing goes bad before you are able to use it! If you have a vertical freezer, these would also be a great way to easily find items that are usually shoved to the back. Basically, we couldn’t love them more!

Divided Freezer Bin

Raise your hand if you have one of those pesky freezer drawers that everything gets lost in. These divided freezer bins are a wonderful solution. The dividers allow you to separate different food types while keeping organization and allowing you to view the items in your freezer. The handles also allow you to easily remove the entire bin from your freezer to wipe it down or organize. This collection was actually just launched by the women over at The Home Edit with Container Store - we love supporting other women in our industry and think they are amazing! Because of the success of their launch, these are currently backordered until June 15th, but we believe they are definitely worth the wait!

Ceramic “Berry” Holders

These ceramic holders are not just for berries. Place four in the bottom of your fridge drawers as a grid, to divide loose produce. We love that these have multiple purposes and can be used depending on what is in your fridge.

Egg Crates

Keep your eggs safe and organized in an egg crate. If you are someone that has an outdoor storage fridge to keep excess products, this is also the perfect way to store your desired amount of eggs in your kitchen fridge. There are so many types out there, and you can definitely choose based on your style! A few great ones are: ceramic for 12 eggs, ceramic for 6 eggs, and this all wooden tray!

If you are loving the look of the acrylic drawers and bins, there is also a matching egg bin!

Stasher Reusable Bags

These reusable silicone bags are a brilliant way to sustainably store your food instead of throwaway sandwich bags. They can easily be washed and we love that you can purchase bag options that stand up or lay flat. The stand up options allow you to store liquid or other leftovers that you typically would put in a storage container. They also can be used to marinate your food, sous vide, or even be used for other instances around your home where you would have typically grabbed a plastic bag - like a change of clothes in your diaper bag or for travel. We LOVE a product with a dual purpose.

Beeswax Wrap

Instead of using plastic wrap or aluminum foil, a great alternative would be using beeswax wrap to store leftover food or a dish that is waiting to be served. Not only do they keep food fresh longer, they also keep plastic from the landfills and last over a year!

Metal Wire Storage Bins

If you aren't into acrylic and would prefer another sustainable option, we love these mesh wire baskets for both the refrigerator and freezer. They come in various metal finishes and two different sizes. Use them to store your fruits and vegetables or snack items in your fridge. We love the idea of have a specific basket that your kids know is just for them!
