Deep Pantry Solutions

It's all about containment and pull-outs in a deep pantry. We love these cute baskets and used them on a recent project. Cute in black and white. They are perfect to put snacks in or you could even stack a few of your decanted jars inside!

Another great solution of deep pantries would be pull-out drawers. This always you to reach all the way to the back without having to reach inside your pantry. I don’t know about you but I tend to lose things that get shoved to the back of the pantry. With this solution, nothing ever gets lost! This option is great and in my own home, and I also love these beautiful wood ones depending on the aesthetic of your pantry or kitchen.

Containment

There are so many options for containing your pantry and making it easier to find and use your items. On your shelves, try to contain items into groups. It becomes much easier to keep the space organized, and to quickly see what you have (and don't have). Some of our favorite categories: Snacks, Breakfast, Baking, Treats; Pasta/Grains; Canned Goods. Below are some items we love!

Lazy Susans

Helps keep the back of pantry from becoming a place where vinegars go to die. A lazy Susan is key! Depending on the items you store in your pantry, they can be used for oils, medication, spices, or even your kid’s snacks! It allows them an easy way to spin it around and choose what they would like to have.

Opaque Bins

When you have open shelving, opaque bins are so important with helping to reduce visual clutter. There are so many option for this and definitely depends on your style. We love these ones and these ones!

Metal Wire Storage Bins

If you are putting them into your pantry that has a closed door, we love these mesh wire baskets for both the refrigerator and freezer. They come in various metal finishes and two different sizes. Use them to store your fruits and vegetables or snack items in your fridge. We love the idea of have a specific basket that your kids know is just for them!

Spice Drawer Inserts

On some occasions your pantry will be stuffed full but you have a surplus of drawers in your kitchen - enter spice drawers! This acrylic insert helps them stay in their place! Can also be used for a supplement/vitamin drawer. We love utilizing all kitchen space and freeing up areas that are too cluttered.

Tips and Tricks

If you are someone that loves decanting your items into jars as much as we do, you’ve probably ran into the problem of backstock. Maybe all your pasta won’t fit in your jar or you bought a different type of cereal this time and half of the box doesn’t fit into your usual canister. There are a few solutions for this!! You can: store the excess on a separate shelf, out of the way of daily use (think top shelf or very bottom shelf of pantry) or you can also store these items behind the decanted items. It's important that you keep all back stock items in one space so that you always know where to look before heading to the grocery store. Large baskets are great for containing these items while reducing visual clutter.

Don’t forget! If you are decanting, be sure to label your jars with the expiration date of the food you're storing!
